Money and Politics | Sunday Message

During this hot political season, Christians must be wise in spiritual discernment. We must take wisdom from God and not the world. In this message, Pastor Greg Laurie approaches the topic of money and politics, guiding us with God’s Word. Notes: Focus verse: 2 Corinthians 9 Scripture teaches that you and everything you have belongs to God. 1 Corinthians 6: 19–20 Everything you have comes from God. Haggai 2: 8 “The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. ” Proverbs 10: 22 The Bible reminds us who gave us the ability to be productive. Deuteronomy 8: 18 “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. ” 1Timothy 6: 10 KJV Read: 2 Corinthians 9: 6–8 Every believer should give and should do so happily. 2 Corinthians 9: 7 It is a blessing and real joy to give. 2 Corinthians 8: 4 As we give to God, God will give to us. 2 Corinthians 9: 8 “Separation of church and state” does not appear in any of our founding documents. Christians need to speak out and speak up for our faith. Only the gospel can truly turn this nation around. Romans 13: 1 There are millions of evangelicals who are eligible to vote in this country. Over half of them do not' vote and one-third of them are not even registered. In America, we have the right, privilege, and responsibility to vote. James 4: 17 God used many flawed people for His purposes. The Bible supports the right and the necessity of a nation to be secure. God is in favor of borders. Acts 17: 26 The Bible supports unborn children and their right to live. The first person to recognize the Messiah was an unborn child. Religious liberty is another huge Issue. The term, “Christian Nationalist, ” is a political term used to try to stigmatize evangelical engagement in the public square. The Bible supports marriage and family. Genesis 1: 27 We are children of God because of our faith in Christ. We are citizens of another kingdom, the Kingdom of God. The hope for America and any nation is a spiritual awakening. America needs revival! Revival should be the cry of every true child of God! Habakkuk 3: 2 --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest. org. Do you have time today? Time for what, Cathe? Just. . . time. If I were to ask you if you had time, what would you say? But if I got specific. . . do you have time for a call? Time to shop? Author Erma Bombeck was quoted as saying “Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.” Matthew 6:27 is pretty frank: “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us overcome fear and worry.
