Peanut Butter Sauce– Thick and creamy, this yummy sauce can make an ordinary bowl of ice cream something special!! Top it with peanuts for even more pizzazz.
I love peanut butter. I especially love cooking with it. So any time I find a recipe featuring peanut butter, I bookmark it. I found this recipe for peanut butter ice cream topping several years ago. It was super easy, and oh so yummy. It’s been a family favorite since then.
Usually we serve it with vanilla ice cream, but it would be good with chocolate ice cream too. Adding the salted peanuts on top makes it extra special. If you like peanut butter, you’ve gotta give it a try. Don’t feel guilty if you want to eat it by the spoonful. Some of us around here may have been known to try that. 😉

Swap out the evaporated milk and use condensed milk and some heavy cream. I added a little here and there and it’s basically this.
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3 Tbsp butter or margarine
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cup peanut butter (I prefer natural but its up to you)
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/4 cup heavy cream
Salted peanuts, optionalReply

Just made this. Sooo good, fresh out of the pot. [Read: inhaling it by the spoonful as I poured the sauce into jars. Did I mention it is soooo good?] Initial observation is that it’s a tad more liquid than I might like and I think next time I’d hold back a bit on the evaporated milk. Also, I don’t think I did anything wrong, but mine made more like 2 2/3 cups of sauce so it didn’t fit into the first mason jar I poured it in. Just a heads up if anyone else wants to store it in a pint jar. Also, I used crunchy peanut butter because I wanted the pieces of peanuts in there. Thank you so much for sharing!

So glad you liked it! Maybe mine only makes closer to 2 cups because we sneak too many spoonfuls. LOL!
